In Buddhism, the Sakadāgāmin, "returning once" or "once-returner" is a partially enlightened person, The second stage of The Four Stages of Awakening
The Sakadagami will be reborn into the sensory realm at most once more. However, if they attain the next stage of enlightenment (Anagamiship) in this lifetime, they will not be reborn in this world.
The three specific chains or fetters of which the Sakadagamin is free are:
1. Personal-existence view (Pali: sakkāya-diṭṭhi), the belief that there is an unchanging self or soul in the five impermanent skandhas
2. Wrong grasp of behavior and observances
3. Doubt about the teachings
The Sakadagami also significantly weakened the chains of
4. Sensual desire
5. Ill will
